Contact Improvisation (CI) is an open-ended exploration of the kinesthetic possibilities of bodies moving through contact.  Sometimes wild and athletic, sometimes quiet and meditative, it is a form open to all bodies and inquiring minds.      In CI dance, partners improvise their movement while maintaining a mutual point of contact.  Each dancer responds to the momentum, direction, intention, speed, weight, rise and fall and other qualities of each other's movements all while focusing on the ever changing mutual contact point(s).  CI is about maintaining complete awareness of the present moment, their bodies and surroundings while dancing in contact with another.  Experience unpredictability in dancing that ranges from high-flying acrobatics to delicately soft and earth-grounded movements.  Skills, safety and individual needs will be addressed.  Come and enjoy the moment!  Open to all levels of movement experience.
