Class Descriptions: Shimmy Jam: Tzipporah Shimmy Jam is a class series that integrates learning the basic moves of Egyptian belly dance with targeted low-impact stretching exercises to tone and strengthen the body, and a fun, informal environment to help improve body-image! The purpose of Shimmy Jam! is not to turn women into bellydancers, and is also not just to engage in Egyptian dance. Shimmy Jam's goal is to enlighten women to the many benefits of bellydance: improved health & feelings of wellness, positive self-esteem & body image, and fellowship with other diverse, dynamic women. We work to remind women that they can get fit doing something that makes them feel beautiful and sensual no matter what their age, background or fitness level may be.
